Pilot Rock - Ashland, Oregon

I hiked with a friend up to the base of Pilot Rock located south of Ashland, Oregon during late August. We then scrambled up this mainly class 2-3 volcanic monolith that had a brief class 4 chockstone like feature that had to be ascended on the way up, and then descended on the way down. All-in-all a fun scramble...just enough spice to call it an adventure, but certainly nothing that required a rope or inspired death-defying fear.

Google map location is here.
